MORE ABOUT THE ARTIST
This Nigerian-born artist belongs to his country’s Ona movement, which reimagines Yoruba tradition in art and design: Lagunju paints Gelede masks and Adire fabric as he considers the effects of globalization and postcolonial hierarchies. By combining Western and Nigerian forms, Lagunju’s work comments on the divide between historical and canonical representations of African people.

100% organic cotton terry, carefully engineered to ensure lightweight comfort, breathability and ease of care. This fabric is "French Terry" -- the exterior has the terry loops like a towel, and the interior is smooth and flat. Organic terry cloth cotton uses less water than conventional cotton and no chemicals that can harm the environment and workers. Machine wash cold, and hang dry or tumble dry low. While we preshrink all of our fabric, cotton knit still has a tendency to shrink a small degree (~1-4%) on the first wash. To minimize shrinkage, avoid high heat dryers.
