Two people on a Boston Whaler boat with sunset in the background.

Boston Whaler® is our most buoyant partnership yet: unsinkable, in fact, and famously so. Since the 1950s, The Unsinkable Legend™ has been integral to countless memories on the water. Among them are some of our own: Tombolo grew up with Boston Whalers and learned to love the water from the faded Whaler Blue deck of a 1974 '13 Sport.

For Part II of our ongoing partnership, we expanded the collection with 18 new carefully-considered pieces designed in close collaboration with Boston Whaler®.

The collection offers a refreshing and playful twist on styles familiar to the boating community like fishing shirts, board shorts, UPF sun shirts, and foul weather gear. In many cases, the garments embrace nostalgic silhouettes and fabrics from the '50s, '60s and '70s when Boston Whaler was rapidly ascending to its now legendary status among boaters worldwide.

In the early years of Boston Whaler®, founder Dick Fisher famously sawed his 13-foot Whaler in half and motored around in the aft portion to prove his unsinkable claim to be true. A 1961 spread in Life Magazine featuring one of his sawed-off boats vaulted the company into the national spotlight.

The Unsinkable Legend™ was born.

That very same year, Boston Whaler® introduced an iconic 16’ design that changed boating forever by popularizing the now ubiquitous center console layout.

In 2024, we rescued one of these very special 16 footers from a yard on Shelter Island, New York. It had seen better days after many years of neglect. Through the cracking paint, we could still make out its name painted on the transom: “Cea Pea.” It was love at first sight.

We put Cea Pea in the water to feature in our Part I photoshoot in all of her dilapidated glory. We held our breath as she slid off her rusty trailer into the water… true to reputation, she still floated.

Since then, we spent the last year hard at work carefully restoring Cea Pea in close partnership with Boston Whaler® and Mercury Marine®, along with their parent company Brunswick Corporation®.

The restoration included a much-needed re-powering by Mercury Marine®, a leader in marine propulsion since its founding in 1939.

Cea Pea’s new 75hp Mercury® outboard gave her the boundary-pushing performance for which the 16 foot model remains famous.

The process of restoring Cea Pea plugged us into an ecosystem of talented New York boatworkers: Chuck’s Fiberglass, Albertson’s Marine, and Wm. J. Mills & Co. - America’s oldest sailmaker.

Together, we gave Cea Pea a new lease on life with no detail overlooked. Wm. J. Mills & Co. served as the bridge between the apparel collection and the boat itself - they made the boat’s bimini and cushions, along with matching tote bags available for purchase.

We're thrilled to unveil Cea Pea, looking as buoyant and beautiful as ever at over 50 years old. She steals the show as the centerpiece of this ongoing partnership.
