A whiff of pizza beats all other whiffs: tangy tomatoes, melting mozzarella, and a smoky, blistered crust. An intoxicating aroma capable of making even the most reasonable person abandon all plans in pursuit of a slice of heaven.
We consider this one of life's great escapes. And we happen to know a man who has spent the better part of his life perfecting it...
His name is Anthony Mangieri, and he's been chasing the perfect pizza since the tender age of 15. What began as a teenage fascination growing up in New Jersey evolved into a lifelong devotion to the art of pizza-making that has taken Anthony all over the world.
This year, Anthony celebrates 30 years of Una Pizza Napoletana, his labor of love and one of the world's most celebrated pizzerias.
To mark the occasion, we've teamed up with Anthony and his crew on a small collection of souvenirs: a limited-edition run of 500 terrycloth jerseys featuring chain-stitched pinstripes and the Una logo, and a made-in-USA six-panel cap sporting the same chain-stitched insignia.

Una has earned a devoted following far beyond the Lower East Side. Its reputation rests on a deceptively simple proposition: naturally leavened, wood-fired pizza made by hand.
At Una, every ball of dough is made by Anthony. Every pizza served is shaped, topped, and baked by him. No shortcuts, no substitutes, and certainly no delegating the dough.
Watching him work is a pleasure in itself. Each movement is deliberate, practiced, and remarkably effortless—the kind of quiet mastery that comes from doing the same thing, day after day, for decades.
Even his utensils have a certain pedigree. The spoon Anthony uses to spread tomato sauce across each pie once belonged to his grandmother. To this day, it's the only spoon fit for the job.
It's this kind of stubborn devotion to the little things that makes Una so special. Thirty years, countless pizzas, and one very hardworking spoon.
We think that's plenty worth celebrating.
