Charity Auction: Hand-Painting Original 'Seasons of Change (Green)' by Mary Ball
Hand-painted original artwork by Tombolo's Artist in Residence, Mary Ball, for her solo exhibition entitled 'Seasons of Change.' Mary Ball painted directly onto this blank shirt, inspiring the digitally recreated run of 500 limited edition shirts.
The auction winner will receive: (1) the original piece, 'Seasons of Change (Green),' framed in quarter-inch plexiglass, (2) one of the 500 limited edition replica shirts inspired by this original work in the buyer's preferred size, and (3) free domestic USA shipping (covered by Tombolo).Free Arts NYC will receive 100% of the proceeds. This is a charity auction, with Tombolo donating every dollar to Free Arts NYC. Since 1997, Free Arts NYC has provided equitable access to arts education and mentorship by offering free programs in partnership with schools, community centers, and social service organizations. To create the template for the numbered editions, Mary Ball painted directly onto this blank shirt we provided her, using her expressive brushwork to explore the contours of a new canvas - a classic Tombolo shirt silhouette.🌀40'' x 40'' quarter-inch plexiglass frame, secured with brass screws and cap nuts. SHIPPING & LOGISTICSThis piece will be on display at Tombolo's NYC Flagship store for the duration of Mary Ball's show, 'Seasons of Change', from February 20-27. Mary Ball (b. 1993) lives and works in Birmingham, Alabama, by way of New Orleans. Ball received her BFA from the University of Georgia in 2016 and her MFA from New York Academy of Art in 2018. Recent exhibitions include Art In Bloom at New Orleans Museum of Art, White Linen Night at Studio 633, New Orleans and Controlled Chaos at 111 Franklin St, New York. Ball has had prior artist residencies including the Willow House Residency in Terilingua, Texas.
