The elasticized waistband affords a good degree of flexibility between sizes. 

The waistband measurement listed below is taken with the elastic relaxed. The elastic comfortably expands 5" larger (and can be cinched up to 3" smaller with the drawstrings). For example, the size medium is 31" in a relaxed state, but can stretch to accommodate up to a 36" or be cinched to accommodate a 28" waist.

100% organic cotton terry, carefully engineered to ensure lightweight comfort, breathability and ease of care. This fabric is "French Terry" -- the exterior has the terry loops like a towel, and the interior is smooth and flat. Organic terry cloth cotton uses less water than conventional cotton and no chemicals that can harm the environment and workers. Machine wash cold, and hang dry or tumble dry low. While we preshrink all of our fabric, cotton knit still has a tendency to shrink a small degree (~1-4%) on the first wash. To minimize shrinkage, avoid high heat dryers.
